The committee reviewed the final draft of the town's long-term growth plan and recommended several small changes.
"Director Leanne Taylor presented high levels of public support (80%+) for most OCP goals. Councillor Rogers raised numerous 'granular' concerns, including the definition of bike facilities, historical accuracy, and Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR) mapping. A major procedural decision was made to decouple the implementation action plan from the OCP to allow the policy document to proceed toward adoption before the October election. Council also debated whether to increase accessibility requirements from 10% to 20% but ultimately stuck with staff's 10% recommendation. A motion to acknowledge businesses alongside residents in traffic policies passed."
Formal MotionFailed
"THAT the definition of bike facility be amended to remove 'these facilities range from protected lanes to secured parking'."
