Street Lighting at Watkiss Way and St. Giles Street

Council requested that staff prepare information and costing for new street lighting at Watkiss Way (near Galloping Goose) and St. Giles Street for the upcoming budget deliberations.

"Councillor Rogers introduced the item, stemming from previous committee discussions, highlighting the safety hazard along Watkiss Way (Galloping Goose corridor) where pedestrians must walk on the narrow shoulder without lighting. He requested staff research previous reports and bring back a cost assessment for inclusion in the 2023 budget deliberations. Councillor MacKenzie asked how this work correlates with the ongoing Active Transportation Network planning."
Formal MotionPassed
"THAT the Committee recommend to Council that staff provide information regarding the installation of street lighting on a.) the Galloping Goose Regional Trail near Watkiss Way and b.) St. Giles Street to the 2023 budget deliberations."
