Development Variance Permit No. 2022/02 - 280 Island Highway

The Committee received the report on a DVP application concerning bike parking and maneuvering aisles at 280 Island Highway.

"The variance was triggered because the required underground bike storage was converted into storage lockers by the developer. The applicant proposed mitigating the bike parking deficiency (13 spaces) by installing 24 new, secure, covered racks in a courtyard, bringing the total spots to above the required quota once floor-mounted racks are removed. The Committee supported this compromise as it improved security and resolved the deficiency issue, while acknowledging the maneuverability variance was minimal due to low traffic/speed in the parkade."
