Council approved the direct award of the Helmcken Road lighting upgrade and deferred the Chilco/Lund intersection to the following year due to budget constraints.
"Staff reported that construction quotes exceeded the $99,000 budget for the planned three locations. To proceed this year, staff recommended deferring the Chilco Road/Lund Road intersection improvements to 2023. This allowed the Helmcken Road roundabout improvements to move forward and be direct awarded to Victoria Contracting & Municipal Maintenance Corporation (VCMMC) for $99,575 plus GST, minimizing disturbance and aligning with other LED upgrades."
