Council moved forward with a Zoning Bylaw amendment (Bylaw No. 1062) requiring new developments to include infrastructure for electric vehicle and electric bicycle charging, granting it first and second reading and waiving the public hearing.
"Staff confirmed the bylaw amendment reflected current industry standards, noting that developers are increasingly including EV infrastructure regardless of mandatory requirements. Council discussed the possibility of holding a Public Hearing, but ultimately decided to waive it since the environmental benefits were clear and the requirement was consistent with municipal trends."
