Council approved the Five-Year Financial Plan in principle, directing staff to prepare the associated bylaw, and noted concern over the high projected 2022 tax increase.
"Councillor Mattson emphasized the need to actively seek ways to reduce municipal expenditures to avoid consistently deferring increases or facing large hikes in subsequent years. Mayor Screech reminded Council that staff had previously provided detailed departmental budgets, allowing for service level review, but little interest was shown in cuts at that time."
