Council received a report for a proposed three-lot subdivision requiring significant front yard setbacks, but provided direction to the applicant that a two-lot proposal would be much more desirable given the environmental and geotechnical constraints.
"The applicant argued the three-lot scheme promotes affordable housing and complies with existing zoning/OCP principles. Council members strongly opposed the 2-meter front lot line setback as too close to the road and generally agreed with staff that, given the significant site constraints (geotechnical, slope instability, and riparian areas), a two-lot subdivision would be more appropriate."
