Council awarded the contract to upgrade the Glenairlie Pumpstation for over $520,000 and amended the financial plan to cover contingencies.
"The Director of Engineering recommended awarding the tender for the Glenairlie Pumpstation Upgrades to IWC Excavation Ltd., the lowest compliant bidder. Staff explained the need for a $120,000 budget increase to cover construction overage, contingencies, and engineering, which would be funded primarily by maximizing the use of DCCs and the Community Works Fund, thereby protecting the Sanitary Reserve Fund. Staff confirmed the upgrade increases redundancy (two pumps instead of one) and provides some capacity for neighborhood growth, consistent with future Sanitary Master Plan updates."
