Application for Extension of Hours of Liquor Service at Six Mile Pub - 494 Island Highway

"Council debated whether to opt in and conduct its own public consultation process (to expedite the application, as proponents argued the LCLB process might be slow) or follow the staff recommendation to opt out and let the LCLB manage the process. Although Council was largely supportive of the business, some members felt obligated to hear from residents first. Two votes were held: one to establish Council's principal support, and a second, official motion (C-129-25) resolving the opt-out/communication strategy."
Formal MotionPassed
"THAT the Liquor Control and Licensing Branch's request for a resolution commenting on the application to amend the liquor license at Six Mile Pub located at 494 Island Highway be declined; AND THAT staff communicate to the Liquor Control and Licensing Branch that Council supports the application for an extension of hours of liquor service at Six Mile Pub."
