CONSIDERATION OF MATTERS MOVED FROM CONSENT AGENDA

Council discussed the parking shortage on Erskine Lane and decided to review policies that allow developers to pay cash instead of providing parking spots.

"Councilor Lemon highlighted that residents do not see cyclists using the lane but do experience a severe parking shortage, exacerbated by hospital staff overflow. Mayor Tobias noted that Erskine Lane is now the densest part of View Royal and future developments will worsen the problem. Council discussed the 'lessons learned' regarding developers paying cash-in-lieu for parking, which often leaves the Town dealing with the resulting street congestion."
Formal MotionPassed
"THAT staff prepare a report for a future meeting reviewing the Town's policy regarding cash-in-lieu of parking and parking exemptions for new developments."
