Council approved a statement linking Town growth to transportation capacity and referred it to the CRD.
"Major debate occurred over linking growth to transportation. Mayor Tobias introduced a lengthy amendment stating growth should be pace-limited by infrastructure capacity. Councillor Rogers argued for changing 'promotes' to 'enables' regarding infill housing to reflect that the policy was a provincial mandate, not a local preference."
Formal MotionPassed
"THAT the Regional Context Statement, as provided in Attachment A, be referred to the Capital Regional District Board for consideration and acceptance, as amended with the transportation capacity text."
