Development Permit 2023-02 - 7 Erskine Lane

Council authorized the issuance of the development permit for the 71-unit apartment building, approving numerous variances including height and setbacks, on the condition that sound mitigation measures are implemented.

"Council reviewed the DP renewal, noting only minor changes since its initial approval. Key debate points included the density and lack of extensive on-site amenities (Mattson), protecting existing green space/trees during construction (Rogers), and noise mitigation from the nearby highway. Mayor Tobias specifically requested robust sound attenuation measures be incorporated for future residents. The applicant (Klippenstein) confirmed significant soil remediation had occurred and discussed the history of the property sale, noting they were not yet engaged for working drawings by the new owner."
