Full RecordingBuilding Permit Updates for 315 and 331 Stewart Avenue
Council addressed compliance issues at 315 Stewart Ave and 331 Stewart Ave. Council directed staff to investigate 315 Stewart for unsightly premises and requested a review of the building and occupation permit process.
"Discussion covered two properties. For 331, Council expressed dismay that a non-conforming garage was not removed years ago during new construction, citing a 'lost in translation' expectation. For 315, discussion focused on the perpetual nature of construction (multiple permit renewals) and the accompanying debris/junk that neighbors consider an unsightly premise, despite conditional occupancy being granted. Two motions resulted: one to check the unsightly premises bylaw and one to review the overall permit processes."
Formal MotionPassed
"THAT staff evaluate the premises at 315 Stewart Avenue to determine whether it falls into the category of unsightly premises."
