2023 Tax Rate Options

"Councillor Rogers opposed the motion, advocating for a slight reduction in the tax ratio for Class 6 (Business) properties (from 4.3 to 4.2) to alleviate inflation and labor pressures on local businesses. The majority supported Scenario A, maintaining the tax ratios unchanged from 2022, noting that any reduction to the business class would shift the burden to residential or other property classes."
Formal MotionPassed
"THAT the 2023 municipal tax ratios be as set out in Scenario A (unchanged from the 2022 tax ratios); AND THAT a bylaw be prepared to implement the tax rates accordingly. (C-60-23)"
