Full RecordingSchool Liaison Programs - Councillor Brown
"Councillor Brown introduced the motion, noting the importance of police presence for crime prevention and personal safety programs. Extensive discussion occurred on the scope of the letter, leading to an amendment to CC (copy to) numerous regional municipalities, the School District 61 Chair, Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations Chiefs and Councils, and West Shore RCMP Inspector Rose. Councillor Kowalewich questioned if the motion was primarily a 'political statement' responding to other regional school board decisions, which the Mayor acknowledged was the underlying context."
