Addressing Bylaw No. 825, 2012

Governing BylawNo. 825Active
Addressing Bylaw No. 825, 2015Adopted 2015

This bylaw (Addressing Bylaw 825) regulates how properties are addressed in the Town of View Royal. It ensures that all lots and buildings have clear and consistent addresses for public safety and easy access. The Director of Development Services assigns addresses when new subdivisions are created and can change existing addresses if necessary. Property owners need permission from the Director to change their address. The bylaw outlines guidelines for assigning addresses, such as even numbers on the north and west sides of streets and odd numbers on the south and east sides. Owners must display their assigned address clearly on their buildings, ensuring it is visible from the street and not obscured by vegetation. Failure to comply with these rules can result in fines, as detailed in the Municipal Ticket Information Bylaw.
