Police and animal control officers provided updates on local crime and safety statistics.
"Staff Sgt. Walsh reported that View Royal accounts for 13% of West Shore calls, with crime generally down except for a slight uptick in property offenses. Discussion occurred regarding traffic safety at the Deakin Road/Island Highway junction and 'mischief' related to loitering. Mark Root provided an update on animal control, noting high compliance in View Royal parks and the implementation of a new 'aggressive dog' declaration tool."
