Island Highway Improvement Project Approval of 85% Design and Direction to Proceed with 100% Design

"THAT staff to proceed with the 100% design of the entire project as presented in the 85% design with the following provisions: the trail connection between View Royal Avenue and the E&N Rail Trail is constructed early in the project to provide a continuous route around the project for active transportation modes; the storm water treatment works are reduced or relocated only when it is in the best interests of the Town to do so; the work plan of the project be scheduled to minimize disruption to businesses and residents; the access to side streets be maintained with flag persons when necessary; and the affected residents, businesses, emergency services and neighbouring local governments are kept apprised of the construction schedule using newsletters, the media, technology and personal communication; AND THAT the project be fully constructed from and including the intersection of Stormont Avenue to the east side of the E&N Trestle, and the remainder of the project be constructed on the south side between Stewart Avenue and Shoreline Drive if funds permit."
