PETITIONS & DELEGATIONS
BUSINESS ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES a) McKenzie Interchange – Motion Update – CDAC-01-16 J. Rosenberg stated that Council has referred motion CDAC-01-16 (THAT the Committee recommend to Council that the Community Development Advisory Committee proceed to investigate the promotion of alternative modes of transportation during the McKenzie Interchange Project while considering impacts and public education of the safe use of public trails) to the Director of Engineering as the Town of View Royal’s representative on the McKenzie Interchange Project Stakeholder Liaison Group.
b) McKenzie Interchange Update J. Rosenberg updated the Committee on the last stakeholder meeting he attended and provided a visual of the last proposal for the interchange project (attached) which included provisions for cyclist traffic, water irrigation, and synchronized signalling.
c) BC Hydro request status update J. Rosenberg stated that Engineering Department’s request to BC Hydro had been approved and that the lighting had been installed along the east/west intersection of Watkiss Way; well as a solar light at the E&N Trail on Watkiss Way.

CORRESPONDENCE
NEW BUSINESS 10.1 Public Art at the Public Safety Building H. Rast introduced and explained Council’s project and input request from the Advisory Committees for public art at the Public Safety Buliding.
The Committee discussed the project, ideas and processes for the public art.

CDAC-02-16: THAT the Committee recommend to Council that a task force be formed to develop the concept and guide the process in which the art piece for the Public Safety Building will be created. CARRIED
