Dear Sir:

RE: Monthly Policing Report – February 2013

Attached is your monthly policing report for the month of February 2013. The West Shore RCMP Detachment received one hundred ninety seven (197) calls for service in your community during that time. The attached table provides a snapshot of the various police occurrences for the month.

Overall calls for service for the month of February have increased by 7 percent overall, when compared to the same period in the previous year. Theft from vehicles still continues to be an issue for the Greater Victoria area. We continue utilizing a bait car which has been beneficial. We have made arrests on identified prolific offenders and have identified others that have either been released from jail or have moved into the West Shore area. We are also making a concerted effort in the area of curfew checks on those that have been arrested and released on certain conditions to ensure they are abiding by those release conditions. Completing these checks has been effective. We have arrested some individuals that have breeched those conditions when checked by members of West Shore Detachment at their residence.

For your information, please find enclosed copies of the following reports for the month of February 2013.

  • Guard room stats
  • Criminal record checks

Sincerely,

Inspector Kevin VIOLOT
