Meeting Overview

This Committee of the Whole meeting addressed standard committee reports across Protective Services, Finance, Planning, and Public Works. Key actions included receiving numerous departmental reports (RCMP, Bylaw, Building), receiving updates on Casino Revenue and Quarterly Reports, and referring the development of Mellor Park to the Parks Committee. The Committee approved the recommendation for the rezoning and OCP amendment application for a 65-unit small lot subdivision at 2420 Chilco Road, subject to several conditions, and initiated discussions regarding the heritage significance and future of Saint Columba and All-Saints Anglican churches. Staff were also requested to communicate the Island Highway Improvement Project (IHIP) schedule to residents.
