Letter of Support for Short-Term Rental Housing for Healthcare Professionals

To Whom It May Concern,

My name is Joel Yncio, and I am a Travel Coordinator at McCare Global. I would like to formally express my support for the rental properties located at in View Royal.

McCare Global is a healthcare staffing and support company that works with hospitals and healthcare facilities to coordinate travel and accommodation for healthcare professionals, including nurses who take temporary assignments across British Columbia. Over the past assignments, these properties have played an important role in providing safe, compliant, and budget-appropriate accommodation for travel nurses working at Victoria General Hospital.

From our experience, these units meet the needs of healthcare professionals by offering:

  • Proximity to Victoria General Hospital, reducing commute times and transportation barriers
  • Clean, and private suites that comply with accommodation standards
  • Rates that align with hospital-approved accommodation budgets
  • Flexible stays that match the temporary nature of healthcare assignments

The availability of such accommodations is essential for ensuring continuity of care within the healthcare system. Travel nurses rely heavily on nearby, short-term housing options when accepting assignments, and the loss of these units could limit our ability to place qualified professionals in the area.

I understand that discussions regarding amendments to the current bylaw are scheduled for January 20, 2026, and we respectfully submit this letter as confirmation that these properties have provided, and continue to have the capacity to provide, necessary housing support for frontline healthcare workers.

I appreciate the opportunity to share my perspective and would be happy to provide additional information if required.

Sincerely,

Joel Yncio Travel Coordinator / McCare Global Healthcare Services
