Activity Description UFS Strategy # Approx. Project Cost**
Establish Geospatial Public Tree Inventory There is a gap in information and knowledge of Town public trees. This project would capture all trees in public roads and ornamental trees in parks. This tool is a necessary best practice when developing a natural asset inventory, that serves as a strategic and operational decision making tool 18* $70,000
Create Tree Planting Plan Planting opportunities mapping would be created, identifying vacancies immediately available for planting that considers utilities, infrastructure and other known constraints 8* $30,000
Review the Town’s Subdivision and Development Servicing Bylaw Recommended changes can be made to the bylaw to help ensure that new developments include space for healthy boulevard trees 2 $8,000
Update to Terms of Reference Materials Guidance given to the Town in detailing the design and requirements of standard terms of reference for landscaping, arboricultural, and windfirm submissions made as part of a development application. 30, 32, 39 $15,000
Establish Forested Parks Asset Inventory A forested parks inventory would give the Town a clearer understanding of the Town’s natural assets by documenting condition, health and structure. Inventory is key in the Town exploring evidence based decision making in the management of its forested parks, especially in consideration of developing a natural asset inventory 27 $65,000
APPROX. TOTAL $188,000

* the activity also supports the partial completion of several other UFS actions ** Approximate costs for the purposes of 2026-2030 financial planning. Potential cost savings if grant funding is successful (up to the lesser of $175K or 80% of eligible costs)
