Executive Summary

Canada and the Province have a mandated transition for 911 services and infrastructure to be modernized. Local municipalities were given grant funding to cover any costs associated locally with the implementation

Business problem and opportunity

View Royal Fire and Emergency Programs have projects ready that will allow for a transition to NG911

Proposed project objectives

Projects include mobile data terminal enhancements in vehicles, improvement of GIS capabilities in our mapping systems, station radio upgrades and alerting systems

Business risks

The Town, along with every jurisdiction in Canada are obligated and required to transition to NG911 by 2025-26. In 2026, this grant funded program will cover costs associated with the transition requirements in View Royal
