It is most unfortunate that the OCP 2050 online survey functions more like a university-level examination than a needed tool for community engagement.

This process disenfranchises residents who are met with a data dump which requires tediously cross-referencing comments with specific policy codes within 200 plus pages -an IQ marathon that demands a professional level of understanding.

The Town must prioritize plain-language communication and a technical platform that facilitates, rather than hinders, public input.

As a footnote, the lack of a resilient digital platform was the icing on the cake. After dedicating 1.5 hours to providing careful feedback, my survey froze and wiped everything.

Expecting residents to provide deep, hours long analytical feedback on a platform with no memory of input is a significant barrier to public participation.

A survey of this magnitude must be accessible to be valid. And yet it is the exact opposite.

Sincerely

Linda Jeaurond V9B5P3
