Background
Road closures causing significant delays to residents and others. Council has requested a discussion on how to reduce duration and impact of construction related road closures.
Purpose
For discussion:
Motion
That staff prepare options to reduce the negative impact of construction related road closures; including but not limited to:
- limiting the hours closures allowed (e.g., not during rush hours)
- requiring those requesting road closures to pay for individuals(Traffic Control Persons - TPC) to redirect 'rat runners' out of residential area and back on to designated roads...
- increase fees charged to close roads to incent shorter closures
