Subject: Application For A Retail Cannabis Store
Dear Sir/Madam:
Hello. My wife and I live only a few blocks away from the Admirals Walk Shopping Centre. I have the following concerns about the application for a Retail Cannabis Store to be located in this shopping centre:
- That it may attract undesirable people to the area
- That it may lead to violent events in the area (There is the fact that retail cannabis stores have been targets for robberies)
- That it will be a negative influence for youth
- That it may lead to late evening disturbances since the proposed store will be open until 11:00 p.m.
Further to these factors, I note that the proposed retail location of the cannabis store will be only two doors away from a dental clinic. I think that it is inappropriate for a cannabis store to be so close to such a clinic.
For these reasons, I am urging the Town Council to reject the application for a Retail Cannabis Store to be located in the Admirals Walk Shopping Centre. Thank you.
Yours sincerely,
Douglas Jewell
