Subject: Zoning ByLaw No. 900, 2014 Amendment ByLaw No 997 - Tuzo Court
To whom it may concern,
As I cannot make the public hearing for the above bylaw change on May 15th, I wanted to ensure my voice was heard.
I disagree with this bylaw change for many reasons, some of which are:
- the construction company has already proceeded without permission and they should have this permission revoked. They have incorrectly assumed these hearings don't matter and nothing comes of them.
- The road noise from the highway is already EXTREMELY loud for the rest of the neighbourhood now that so many trees have sadly been cut down (seems like half of Mill Hill). What is left is needed to absorb some of this noise. Otherwise, it will just get worse. I live in the townhouses on Chilco and I cannot have my front windows open without hearing highway noise now.
- Already preparing the land for residential areas, just assuming it would pass, is not the right way to do business.
- We are losing a lot of park area these days, with more and more construction going on and more residential areas being built. I'm worried about the lack of green spaces we may have going forward.
- When I moved into the area 7 years ago, Limona lied to me and said no more trees will be cut down. I don't know if all have been approved previously, but it's sad to see how many have been removed.
Please take this reasons into consideration when deciding whether or not to approve this bylaw change. In addition, I hope they will be asked to replant trees they've already taken down without approval, and to keep this as park area.
I know we live in a time where continuous new construction for new housing is inevitable. Let's do things smartly, and truly remove only what we have to, and replant where we can.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
