Dear Development Services Department -

We are opposed to the proposed amendments - OCP Plan No. 811 and Zoning Bylaw No. 900 for a number of reasons:

  • the intent of the land use was for park & recreation and should remain
  • a significant number of trees have already been taken down as a result of the new phase of the development
  • families and children rely on parks on a daily basis for enjoyment, exercise and mobility
  • park land promotes community and a sense of place for individuals that reside in the neighbourhood
  • the trees provided traffic calming measures that are very much needed in this particular area

As homeowners who have lived in the neighbourhood for over 8 years, it is upsetting to hear that a plan that was approved by council in the past now has the potential of being changed to “residential” and not for the good of the families who are considering moving in to this beautiful area.

Sincerely,

R & B Long
2323 Chilco Road
