b) Form and Character Development Permit No. 2013/09 – 1701 Island Highway (DP 2013/09 to Amend DP 2012/05)

1. Report dated May 2, 2013 from the Planner The Planner gave a brief summary of the application to Council. Council and staff discussed proposed changes to the retaining wall/fence area.

C-32-13 THAT Development Permit No. 2013/09 be approved to amend Development Permit No. 2012/05 as per the plans attached to the May 2, 2013 report titled “Form and Character Development Permit No. 2013/09 – 1701 Island Highway (DP 2013/09 to Amend DP 2012/05) from the Planner;

AND THAT Development Permit No. 2013/09 incorporate the following variance:

• A variance to the side yard fence height from 2.5m to 5.7m to permit a 1.8m fence on top of a retaining wall up to 4.0m high along the south west lot line. CARRIED

c) Temporary Sign Permit No. 2013/02 – 1950 Watkiss Way

d) 2013 Friends of Craigflower Manor Society Grant-in-Aid

1. Report dated May 2, 2013 from the Director of Finance A. Tetlow and J. Skrlac, representatives of the Friends of Craigflower Manor Society, stated that the Society is requesting a grant-in-aid for use towards water bills and maintenance of tools and equipment for the community gardens at Craigflower Manor.
