Letter from CRD Bylaw and Animal Care Services re: Animal Control Agreement Contract Renewal
Communication from the CRD explaining baseline cost updates and changes to dog licensing revenue retention for the Town.
October 3, 2013
Mr. Kim Anema Chief Administrative Officer Town of View Royal 45 View Royal Avenue Victoria, B.C. V9B 1A6
Dear Mr. Anema,
Re: Animal Control Agreement Contract Renewal
Our contract to provide Animal Control Services to the Town of View Royal expires at the end of this year. We would like to continue to provide our services for the years 2014-2016 inclusive. I have enclosed 4 copies of a new contract for your consideration. We have made two significant changes to the current contract:
- We now have a baseline cost established so we are able to project the annual costs in advance for each year of the contract.
- We have changed the CRD covenants section so that the Town of View Royal will now retain 100% of all revenue from the sale of dog licences sold by View Royal employees. The CRD will continue to be responsible for all costs associated with dog licencing, including the purchase of dog licences tags, advertising, data entry, software upgrades, postage and stationary for mailing of renewals notices and dog licence canvassing.
I hope this meets with your approval and we can continue to provide high quality Animal Control to View Royal at a very reasonable cost.
I have enclosed for your information a summary of the services we provide to the Town of View Royal.
Sincerely,
Don Brown Chief Bylaw Officer CRD Bylaw and Animal Care Services
