TO: Council DATE: September 5, 2013 FROM: J. Beauchamp, Director of Finance MEETING DATE: September 10, 2013
BYLAW NO 870, 2013 BEING A BYLAW TO AMEND TAX EXEMPTION BYLAW (CHURCH HALLS AND CHURCH LAND) NO. 784, 2010
RECOMMENDATION:
TO provide first three readings to Tax Exemption Bylaw (Church Halls and Church Land) No. 784, 2010, Amendment Bylaw 870.
CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER’S COMMENTS:
I concur with the recommendation.
BACKGROUND:
In 2010, Tax Exemption Bylaw (Church Halls and Church Land) No. 784, 2010 was created, with the intention that it replace Tax Exemption Bylaw (Church Halls and Church Land) No. 567, 2004. Bylaw 567 was not repealed at that time. This is a housekeeping matter to ensure that the Town’s permissive tax exemptions given are compliant with our bylaws.
RECOMMENDATION:
TO provide first three readings to Tax Exemption Bylaw (Church Halls and Church Land) No. 784, 2010, Amendment Bylaw 870.
