Re: 333a Stewart Avenue
On behalf of my clients, Gary and Nice Mathies I am asking for your consideration of a variance to allow them to build gates at the front of their property at 333a Stewart Avenue.
The property is at the end of Stewart Avenue and is adjacent to the public beach access. In nice weather there can be a lot of traffic and vehicles turning around...and it is not uncommon for cars to either drive, or back into my clients driveway to turn around, and in some cases even park on their property. With the recent addition of no parking signs on the one side of Stewart Avenue, we anticipate that the traffic and parking problems on the street will only be worse. In addition, my clients do not at present, live at the property full time, and the gates would be an added measure of security when they are away from home.
The gates we are proposing would be 1.5 metre high metal gates with stone columns that will match the stone that was used on their recently completed home. The colours of the gates will be complimentary to the trim colours used on the house. There will be two gates, one for vehicle access and a separate pedestrian gate. The posts will include decorative lighting, mailbox and house numbers to identify the property.
If you have any questions regarding this application or if you would like to visit the property, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Bruce Wilkin.
