Re: 335 Stewart Avenue
On behalf of my client, Brian Richards I am asking for your consideration of a variance to allow gates to be built at the front of the property at 335 Stewart Avenue.
The property is at the end of Stewart Avenue and is adjacent to the public beach access. In nice weather there can be a lot of traffic and vehicles turning around...and it is not uncommon for cars to either drive, or back into my clients driveway to turn around, and in some cases even park on their property. With the recent addition of no parking signs on the one side of Stewart Avenue, we anticipate that the traffic and parking problems on the street will only be worse. In addition, my client does not at present, live at the property full time, and the gates would be an added measure of security when they are away from home.
The gate we are proposing would be 1.5 metre high metal gates with a stone wall and column. The intention is to tie the gates into similar gates that are being proposed for the property next door at 333a Stewart Avenue. The street frontages of the two properties are both quite narrow, so by using similar materials and style of gates, we feel that it will present a stronger more unified appearance to the end of the street.
If you have any questions regarding this application or if you would like to visit the property, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Bruce Wilkin.
