We are writing to request an exception to your current bylaw to allow for an adjustment to our sewer fee for 2013.
We have already supplied documents to your Accounting Office (Mr. Steve Vella) providing details of the dates of the water leak discovery, repair and CRD adjustment, but unfortunately our initial request for adjustment did meet the 30 day requirement as specified in your bylaw. We didn't initially realize we had a leak; we thought the water price and our usage had simply increased. We were then away for a substantial part of the next billing period and were shocked when we received the next water bill. We then investigated and eventually found the leak underground near our water box on our front lawn. Once discovered the leak was immediately repaired and disclosed to CRD. This timeline however does not meet your bylaw requirements as our request was more than 30 days from the date of the first high water bill.
Can you please consider our request for an adjustment on our current bill of $620, in light of the previous three years of sewer fees being $170, $148 and $151.
We hope you will give consideration to our request. We have been residents of View Royal for 15 years.
If you have any questions please d not hesitate to contact us at 250 478-0339 or via email.
Thank you for your time,
Tim and Cecilia Walzak
