Staff Recommendation:

THAT Development Permit Application No. 2014/02 be approved as per the plans attached to the report dated April 10, 2014 from the Senior Planner titled “Development Permit Application No. 2014/02 – Lakeside Village Commercial – 430 Six Mile Road”;

AND THAT Development Permit Application No. 2014/02 include the following variances:

  • Variance to the projection of a sunlight control projection into the required yard facing Six Mile Road from 0.5m to 2.0m for Buildings A and B
  • Variance to the maximum height of a fence (retaining wall) from 2.5m to 4.5m.

8.2 COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE RESOLUTIONS

  1. From the April 8, 2014 Committee of the Whole meeting

    a) Tree Canopy Net Loss

    1. THAT the Committee recommend to Council that a report be prepared describing a.) the requirements to achieve to 0% tree canopy net loss and b.) alternative approaches to achieve some reductions to tree canopy net loss; AND THAT the report also include information regarding the resources required to provide a free boulevard tree program. (COW-48-14)

    b) Park Bench Dedication Program

    1. THAT the Committee recommend to Council that a report be provided detailing options to modify Policy 6000-003 – Amenity Donations. (COW-49-14)

    c) Advisory Committee Terms of Reference

    1. THAT the Committee recommend to Council that the Advisory Committee Terms of Reference specifically for the Planning and Development Advisory Committee be amended to include social and economic development issues as related to land use planning. (COW-50-14)
