Dear James,

I hope you are well. We are moving forward on our wayfinding project, building on the conversation at the February 18th stakeholder workshop. Our consulting team has come back with a draft wayfinding plan, which I am sending to you for your review – please see the link below. Please circulate amongst your colleagues – we look forward to your comments, your critiques, and your concerns – whether technical, aesthetic, practical, or political. It’s very important to us that stakeholders are on-board, because this plan will only be as successful as its support and adoption by each of the local governments. Feel free to circulate to whomever you feel will be interested and concerned, including citizen and stakeholder advisory groups.

We will be forwarding comments back to the consultant April 4th, so, if possible, please have your comments to me by that day. Email works, but I am happy to chat by phone if that is preferable! If you need more time than that, please let me know as soon as possible.

Part II of this project is getting signage in this year to demonstrate its feasibility. We have a pot of funding to put towards implementation and get signage “on the ground” this year. How much is available to each municipality will depend on how many municipalities are in a position to move forward on this by the end of the year. Please confirm that you:

  1. are interested
  2. have a route that would be ready to be signed that is consistent with the plan
  3. have some funding available to complete the project in the (likely) circumstance that we can only provide partial funding
  4. have the staff (or consultant) time and expertise to undertake signing the route with the guidance provided in the plan.

I look forward to hearing your feedback on the plan and your confirmation that you are interested in receiving funding towards implementation for this year by April 4th.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to dedicate your thoughts and energy to this project!

Warmest regards,

Jenn
