  1. MAYOR’S REPORT

Acting Mayor Kowalewich acknowledged that today is the 20th anniversary of Elements Casino’s opening in View Royal and reminded the public that the holiday lighting contest, Light up View Royal, is happening again this year.

a) Appointment of Committee of the Whole

Acting Mayor Kowalewich announced the Mayor’s appointments to the Standing Committees of Council, as outlined in Schedule A, a copy of which is attached hereto and forms a part of these minutes.

b) Appointment of Representatives to other Committees, Commissions and Boards

MOVED BY: Councillor Mattson SECONDED: Councillor Lemon

THAT the appointment of representatives to other Committees, Commissions and Boards as outlined in Schedule B, items 1 through 25, a copy of which is attached hereto and forms a part of these minutes, be endorsed. CARRIED

c) Miscellaneous Appointments

THAT the selection for miscellaneous appointments, as outlined in Schedule C – items 1 through 4, a copy of which is attached hereto and forms a part of these minutes, be endorsed. CARRIED

Acting Mayor Kowalewich announced the selection for Liaisons and Alternates to the Community Development Advisory Committee and Parks, Recreation and Environment Advisory Committee as outlined in Schedule E – items 1 and 2, a copy of which is attached hereto and forms part of these minutes.

Acting Mayor Kowalewich noted there was a grand opening for the Juan de Fuca hockey rink and childcare facility at West Shore Parks and Recreation on December 6, 2021. He stated that the West Shore Parks and Recreation 2022 budget has been approved by the Board of Directors.
