Increasing size of Council

Dear Mayor and Council:

As we will no doubt be unable to attend the meeting, we wish to register our position on the intent to increase the size of council from 5 to 7, and the modification to council quarters.

We feel at this time, with the excellent job being done by the current council members, that an increase in the numbers of council, and the modification to council quarters, is unnecessary. We are all facing increasing costs of living, and adding another $45,000 to Town expenses, in addition to the estimated $50,000 to modify council quarters seems unreasonable at this time.

In closing, we wish to praise the job that you, Mr. Mayor, and Council, have done for this Town. Furthermore, we thank the road maintenance crews for the excellent job that they performed during this last snow event. View Royal roads were clearly the best maintained in the Greater Victoria area.

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to your proposal.
