Re” Commuter train service on E&N, Langford to Vic West

The Island Corridor Foundation (ICF) has recently released business case for renewing train service on the E&N , and has asked that the Province of BC and government of Canada fund infrastructurre improvements to allow the return of train service on Vancouver Island. The ICF would encourage local City Councils support this investment in this unique transportation corridor.

View Royal Council has passed Resolutions on this topic in December 6,2016 . Mayor Screech wrote a letter to the editor of the T/C last week.

This is to request the “View Royal City Council resolve to support the Island Corridor Foundation to encourage the governments of Canada and BC to make infrastructure grants to restore train service on the E&N rail corridor and to specifically, as the first proiority, to establish commuter train service from Langford to Victoria.

Mayor screech is requested to then write the Minister of Transport for Canada and BC with this council motion and copy ICF, Premier Horgan and and local Mayors.

Respectfully,

Geoff Pearce
