Subject: Traffic Issues along Burnside

Hello,

My name is Lyndsay and I on a side road off Burnside rd w. Close to the burnside and helmcken intersection.

I am reaching out because I have lived in my home for over 5 years and this past year the traffic along burnside has gotten significantly worse. Burnside is being used as a third lane to the highway. My new average drive time from Marigold school to High st is 30 minutes- the distance is 1 km. Yes we often walk but sometimes I will drive if I have an errand to run.

The two issues to address are:

  1. The intersection at helmcken and burnside. There is no turning lane and this contributes to the backup of traffic for those trying to get to the highway.
  2. Burnside being used as a third lane to the highway. How can this road be used for local traffic only

Thank you,
Lyndsay
