Dear Mayor and Council,

I am writing as a community member who would love to see the Evo bike share program expand into View Royal. I’ve been using the Evolve bikes in Langford, and they’ve been an incredible addition to the Westshore.

As someone who doesn’t typically cycle, mainly because I live in an apartment and don’t have space to own a bike, I’ve found Evo to be a game-changer. It has allowed me to enjoy casual riding on a regular basis, something I never had the chance to do before. Even though I’m not commuting on the bikes, they’ve made cycling accessible, fun, and easy in a way that really adds to the community.

With Langford and Saanich already part of the program, having View Royal included would close a major gap in the network. It would connect more of the Westshore, support active transportation, and give both residents and visitors more sustainable options for recreation and travel.

I hope the City will consider opening discussions with Evo about bringing the program to View Royal. It would be a valuable step toward making cycling more accessible and connected for everyone in our region.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Jessica Vanderkuip
