Subject: My comments for Oct 7, 2025 council meeting

Hello:

The letter I wrote regarding speeding on upper Chilco Road and Lund Road are going to be addressed at tonight's meeting.

These are the comments I would like the mayor, council, and engineering to hear. I hope the letter I wrote has been read by everyone.

Chilco Road already has speed humps, just not at our end, and as a result, drivers speed past our house all the time. A speed reader was placed for about 8 or 10 days (it was removed yesterday), and I regularly saw speeds of 45 to 48 km, in a 30km zone, with narrow and curving roads.

Please consider placing more speed humps (with more of a "bump" than the rest of Chilco-they don't really slow traffic down that much), or come up with some other traffic calming plan.

Also, please consider placing a permanent speed reader at our end of the road.

Can someone tell me if the speed readers actually record the speed that a vehicle is travelling? If not, is there a way to get a speed reader that does record the speeds?

Sincerely,
Katherine Buchanan
