Dear Mayor and Council,
I live at #68-14 Erskine Lane. As you know the residents of 14 Erskine Lane have been dealing with the construction of four apartment buildings over the last several years. On Monday, July 22, work on the installation of the water lines began. This involved digging up Erskine Lane.
Unfortunately, under Erskine Lane is solid bedrock which means they have to use heavy equipment drills to break through it. The constant and extremely loud pounding noise that this drill makes has severely affected our quality of life. Our unit and those of our neighbours are only metres from the road. At this point, the work is being done down the road from our unit, and I cannot imagine how horrific the noise will be when they are directly behind us. I understand that this work has to be done however I do not believe that the town understands how difficult this is for the residents of Erskine Lane. I am asking the town to look into some sort of sound mitigation that could be installed between our homes and the road. I would also ask that our Mayor and council visit Erskine Lane so they can see firsthand what we are dealing with.
