Re: Watkiss area Community Park
With regard to the article in the recent View Royal News on the design of a “quiet park space” I ask you to consider including an,
ANALEMMATIC SUNDIAL
The Analemmatic Sundial is a horizontal sundial at ground level which does not have hour lines marked on it. Instead of using hour lines, it has a series of fixed hour points which are located in a half circle pattern around the analemma. A person standing on the analemma will cast a shadow which will pass through the hour markers. It is also known as a Human Sundial.
The City of Victoria has an Analemma Sundial at Ogden Point.
These sundials are located in well known locations around the world
I have attached a selection of images of existing analemma sundials for you to see how it might look.
I also included a design I made for a garden in the area.
Respectfully yours
