To Town of View Royal Staff & Council Members;

This letter is with regards to the upcoming town council meeting on Feb. 3^rd, 2015, with regards to the residents of Glenairlie Drive seeking a variance to the maxiumum fence height from 2.0m to 2.5m on the rear property line. We are unable to attend this meeting but would like to state our reasons for requesting this variance.

We bought this property at 329 Glenairlie Drive more than 25 years ago because of the beautiful trees in the back and the privacy they provided. We never thought it possible to have any type of development behind our properties. Now that the railtrail is being constructed, not only have most of the beautiful trees along the path been removed, so too is everyone's privacy as the trail is about 1 metre away from all of our backyard property lines. Once the trail is completed, trail users will be able to look over a 2.0 m fence into our backyards. We are also concerned about security issues as well. (Criminal see, Criminal do)

We sincerely hope that this variance will pass and that the residents along Glenairlie Drive can be allowed to build 2.5m fences along back property lines.
