RE: Development Permit for 333 Stewart Avenue

We are in the process of getting our boathouse lease renewed as our 5 year lease expired. Due to damage of the old boathouse after a storm in 2012, it had to be rebuilt. Under the existing survey that the boathouse lease was originally granted, the renewed structure was shifted so that it would not be over Township territory and rest exclusively on, or over property we had leased from the DND. Shortly after the completion of the boathouse renovation, it was determined by a new "Natural Boundary" survey that an existing support foundation that needed to be used was inside Township jurisdiction. This incursion is about 3 square feet and has always been in use with a concrete footing for the historical building and the new boathouse.

What we are asking is that you sign this letter to offer your support in the granting of our renewed DND lease as it is being held up due to a municipal process. The key details are that a boathouse has been in this location for approximately 65 years, with the renewed current structure since 2012. The current structure was built so that it would match the house and also utilized a low slope roof so that it would not block any views. Additionally, the boathouse only has windows facing back into the bank (window in door) and windows facing the bay - this window design was incorporated so that privacy for the neighbors would not be compromised. The end result is a new and safe structure that is also aesthetically pleasing.

We thank you in advance for your support!

Sincerely,

Sue Ranzinger / Troy Saladana
