Details of Presentation
I run a climate change not-for-profit that’s advocating that cities and towns require gasoline retailers to place climate change & air pollution information labels on gas pumps. I’m a Toronto-based lawyer and a recognized global authority on the subject. The concept has been endorsed by some of the world’s top climate scientists and is now being considered by several cities in North America including the District of West Vancouver. You can learn more about the concept at http://ourhorizon.org.
I have produced a legal report for municipalities in Ontario that is available here: http://ourhorizon.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Face-The-Change-Report-for-Councillors.pdf. I hope to release the BC version by the end of this month.
The presentation would be informational but I would encourage councillors to consider a motion that refers the matter to staff to come back with a report after we release our legal research.
Audio Visual Needs
List any requested audio visual needs: A projector for my laptop or memory stick so I can use a PowerPoint presentation.
