TOWN OF VIEW ROYAL BYLAW NO. 828
A BYLAW TO LEVY RATES FOR MUNICIPAL, REGIONAL DISTRICT AND HOSPITAL PURPOSES FOR THE YEAR 2012
The Council of the Town of View Royal, in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows:
The following rates are hereby imposed and levied for the year 2012:
(a) For all lawful general purposes of the Municipality on the assessed value of land and improvements levied on the General assessment base, rates appearing in Column (A) of the Schedule "A" attached hereto and forming a part of this Bylaw.
(b) For purposes of the Capital Regional District on the assessed value of land and improvements levied on the Hospital assessment base, rates appearing in Column (B) of the Schedule "A" attached hereto and forming a part of this Bylaw;
(c) For Regional Hospital District purposes on the assessed value of land and improvements levied on the Hospital assessment base, rates appearing in Column (C) of the Schedule "A" attached hereto and forming a part of this Bylaw;
(d) For the purposes of the Capital Regional District, Northwest Trunk Sewer on the assessed value of land and improvements taxable for Regional Sewer purposes, and assessed on the Hospital assessment base, rates appearing in Column (D) of the Schedule "A" attached hereto and forming a part of this Bylaw.
The minimum amount of taxation upon a parcel of real property shall be One ($1.00) Dollar.
Subject to the Interpretation Act, after the third (3rd) day of July 2012 the Collector shall add to the current year's Municipal, Regional District, Regional Sewer, School, Regional Hospital, Assessment Authority, Municipal Finance Authority, B.C. Transit, and Residential Garbage Fee, taxes unpaid upon each parcel of land upon the roll, ten percent (10%) of the amount thereof, and the said unpaid taxes, together with the amount added as aforesaid shall be deemed to be the amount of the current year's taxes due upon such land. No exceptions shall be made.
This Bylaw may be cited for all purposes as the "Tax Rates Bylaw No. 828, 2012".
