The tool uses predictive analytics and simulation modeling.Aims to incorporate social determinants of health into OCP planning.

Additional information for the Presentation Form:

Tool that combines neighborhood and community data with simulation and predictive analytics modelling with insight planning data to give practical guidance to anyone looking to incorporate health information into urban planning.

Not only are the social determinants of health (i.e., economic, and social conditions) shown to influence individual and group differences in health status, but environmental features that are considered by cities as essential to include in their OCP planning, are embedded into the modelling and risks assessment analyses.

Our approach and tools, calculates the health effects of urban planning actions—combining science and evidence-based driven insights with simulating real-world problems, to generate and inform evidence-based decision making for urban planners, healthcare professionals and other community-based resources. Tools that predict the demand for health resourcing, medical facilities, and funding.

From the planning perspective, our approach is demand driven, flexible and builds internal capacity, so you the user can quickly enter your own planning actions and immediately visualize the impact. More importantly, using these tools enables an urban planner to identify the risks and impact of decisions in a cost-and-risk free environment---eliminating the need for piloting projects.

From the health perspective, our approach guides urban planners to assess neighborhood strengths and weaknesses, revealing not only the health needs, resources, and funding for today but also it reveals the key urban determinants and actions required to improving the existing and future health needs of the residents of View Royal.

Our approach and tools are easy and provide a practical way to use population health as a tool for planning, especially in evaluating value for money for services such as policing, health, transportation, education, and food security.
